Client Installation Using Software Update-Based Installation

Using Software Update-Based Installation: Software update-based client installation publishes the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager client to a software update point as an additional software update. This method of client installation can be used to install the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager client on computers that do not already have the client installed or to upgrade existing System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Clients.
