Client Installation Using Software Distribution

Software Distribution
You can deploy the client using the Software Deployment feature. This method is often used when upgrading the client to a new service pack. You will notice that a new installation of Configuration Manager ships with a Configuration Manager client package and a Configuration Manager client Upgrade package. If you want to create your own Configuration Manager client  software package, follow these steps:

1.      Open the Configuration Manager console and navigate to the Software Library workspace.
2.      Select Overview Application Management Packages and click Create Package From Definition on the ribbon.
3.      Under Name, select Configuration Manager Client Upgrade and click Next. If you do not see the definition, verify that you have selected Microsoft as the publisher.
4.      Select Always Obtain Files From A Source Directory and click Next.
5.      In the source directory type \\<Server>\sms_<Sitecode>\Client where <Server> is the name of the Configuration Manager site server and <sitecode> is the site code.
6.       Click Next and finish the guide.

You have now created a software package containing the client software that you can deploy using the deployment methods
