Software Update Files Are Stored in the Content Library The content of software updates is also stored in the new content library of Configuration Manager 2012. The single-instance storage of the content library is also used for software updates. Before content files are downloaded, Configuration Manager 2012 checks to see if the content file is already in the content library. If the content file is available, it will use that file for the new software update.
