Managing Superseded Software Updates

Managing Superseded Software Updates -- In Configuration Manager 2007 software updates automatically expired after being superseded. This was done in the full software update synchronization process. You could not deploy superseded software updates because they were expired, and Configuration Manager 2007 doesn’t allow you to deploy expired software updates.

Configuration Manager 2012 lets you choose to manage superseded software updates. You can also choose to configure a specific period of time in which the software update doesn’t automatically expire after being superseded. This way you can deploy superseded software updates if necessary.
